Catherine Sammartino-Tarduno has over 25 years of experience in litigation. She is a graduate of St. John's University School of Law where she was a member of the Moot Court team and earned the AmJur in Administrative Law in 1989. Since graduation, she has practiced in the fields of medical malpractice, insurance litigation, employment law and legal malpractice. Catherine began her Medical Malpractice defense career initially at Schiavetti, Geisler et al. and joined Geisler & Gabriele upon its inception in 2000. Between 2004 and 2012 she continued her career in litigation as an independent contractor, solo practitioner concentrating on the areas of general liability, medical malpractice and employment law. In 2012 she joined Gabriele and Marano.
During her career she has also worked at Rivkin, Radler et al.; AIG Insurance Company, handling nationwide legal malpractice claims and suits and at Sedgwick Claims Management where she worked with the risk management teams and Board of Directors of major New York hospitals to analyze, manage, direct and foster an efficient and effective resolution of claims and suits.
Catherine is a sustaining member of the New York State Bar Association and a member of the American Bar Association Torts and Insurance Section and the Labor and Employment Law section for over 20 years where she has participated as judge for the sections moot court competition.
She was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1990 and then the United States District Court of the Eastern District of NY.
